quick note
my heart goes out to those in new orleans. i hope this won’t be another katrina. i saw the damage left by katrina and it was amazing yet depressing. i hope our government can pull through for them this time.
byosd
i’m in utah for a project. utah is mormon country where the liquor laws are peculiar. in order to have a cocktail, you must first pay membership into a “club” and then you can order the drink.
back in college, drinking was fundamental to parties. we even came up with an anagram on the type of party, byob. are mormon parties byosd (bring your own soft drink)? IF i was an anthropologist, i would be more excited and curious about the atmosphere at a mormon party. do mormons even party?
anyways, deep thoughts while in utaaaahhh!
delta refridgerator
after my week in sunny mountain view on a project, this week i am vaulted across the country again but landing a bit shorter in the mormon country of Utah.
we flew with delta, whose planes were a bit old and their exit row door was a bit leaky, which I was sitting next to. on top of the cold i was already dealing with, here i am next to a freezing door. i learned from my flight to thailand that at 38000 feet it is negative 54 degrees F. great. the flight people didn’t have a blanket. so, i turned my laptop on. ran it really hard for a ten minutes, put it on standby and then put on my cold side. i did that until we landed.
so, watch out for the exit row window seats. you could freeze!
