Scuba diving

Since Dee is too busy having fun, i figured i would write for her. It has been a week since she left and she went south to Koh Tao to get PADI certified.

the bus down was awful. they moved her from bus to bus and water fell on her head due to a crack in the bus. it took her more than 10 hours to reach Koh Tao from Bangkok. so, when we travel back down from Bangkok, we will take the train or the plane.

otherwise, she is having an amazing time. i can’t wait to go. she talks about the amazing food, the beautiful beaches, and how everyone is so nice. However, in comparison to her last visit, she says it is expensive. but nowhere near what expensive means in NYC.

today she had her first open water dive with her class and she said it felt like she was flying. she jumped and swam around the whole group. she was so excited. her instructor is from Germany and has been there for two years teaching scuba diving. he came to Thailand with his girlfriend and they had so much fun, they decided to stay. sounds like the life to me and something i will consider (just kidding mom).
Anyways, back in NYC, i had a very nice dinner with Simon at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak . The restaurant was really nice. it wasn’t too far from my building on Ave of the Americas. I would definitely recommend the place for a special occasion or client relations.

I spent some time this weekend integrating the photo album into the site using the wordpress gallery2 embedded whatchamacallit. it was easy to integrate, but tricky to get the theme correct. for some reason, the person who wrote the theme wanted the fonts HUGE. so i had to tweak the css for that and for other little things. overall, i am very happy with the outcoming. the only problem now is having the navigation bar recognize when you are viewing the gallery. i will fix it soon.

so, i’m still in NYC and dee is thailand. i can’t wait to leave. I can’t remember the last time i had pure relaxation. i commented to Simon it must have been when i was in middle school. Since then, i always had something to worry or think about. when i go to thailand, i am leaving a huge brain dump of worry and stress behind in my apt. i will not think about work at all. i will lie on the beach, stare off into obilivion and not care about a thing. i will be peaceful.

five more days.
